What’s the format of the archives?
All images are compressed with 7zip; for uncompressing you may use 7zip (version for Windows, program for MacOS. For Linux users: you can find 7zip uncompressor in your repositories).
Which password I must use?
Default root password is root, default user login is user and default user password is also user. Sometimes such passwords can’t be used, and you can find special passwords and logins on page with image and in readme.txt from OS archive.
Are these OS’s images legal?
Operating systems from this site are mostly nostalgical toys (which can’t be used for any commercial purpose and can’t be bought today) or fully legal contemporary distributions. I can’t buy Windows 95 today even for one dollar, and using it like a toy can’t harm any business.
Where new distributions and OS? For example, Snow Leopard?
Snow Leopard is a contemporary commercial OS. If you want to use it or contemporary Windows (Windows 2000, XP, Vista and so on), just buy it and use accordingly to its license.
Why I don’t see Operating OS 1.4005betaalpha build 18?
Option A: Maybe, I haven’t distribution CD’s or floppies. If you prefer, you may install it and send me an image (it will be on this site with link to you) or simply CD/floppy images. Вариант б: у меня есть дистрибутив, но просто не дошли руки. Option B: the differences between this build and my build are only cosmetic.
How to run OS images from this site?
Most of the images are made for the VMWare virtual machine, you can download a free VMWare Player from the official site to start images. Some images are for the Microsoft Virtual PC 2007; you can download it from Microsoft for free. In other cases instructions are near the download link.
